INSPIRATION ROOMS: Neutrals
Tans and creams - if mixed right - are far from blah. They can create a feeling that is a cross between relaxed beach vibe and Swedish simplicity, Don't confuse neutral with boring, as the right tan can provide the perfect backdrop for a sophisticated palette.
When choosing a paint in a tan hue, the options are endless. Tans on the red end of the color spectrum will tend to look more peachy or yellow, while on the darker side of the color wheel (think greens and blues), will provide a cooler feel. Choose your favorite accent in the room, whether it be a pillow or piece of artwork, and try to coordinate your paint with it. Don't match it, per se, but choose a tan with the same undertones to ensure that the colors will flow - and that you will like it once it's up.
Some rooms where the layers of tans and creams really flow....
