ROOM MAKEOVERS: Master Retreat Rework
This master bedroom needed a facelift. The carpet and draperies, along with the 80s bedspread. felt heavy and a bit depressing.
To lighten the look, we took down the draperies and installed plantation shutters, pulled up the carpet and laid down hardwood floors, and gave it a fresh coat of paint in a light cream. However, the sloped ceilings of this master bedroom really limited working with a four poster bed.
So we (reluctantly), dismantled the top part of the bed and moved to the adjacent wall. Paired with an upholstered bench from Overstock.com, that we recovered in a light linen, and set it on this gorgeous platinum rug from Madeleine Weinrib.
The rug is Madeline Weinrib. Collage frame are from a craft store (you can pick up at Target or Ikea as well). Lamps are from Target and side tables from Home Goods. The dresser/buffet table is an antique purchased in Georgetown (Washington, DC), while the bed was a discontinued item from a retailer out of Florida.
